Child Safety

Basketball Victoria and Bairnsdale and District Amateur Basketball Association (BDABA) are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in basketball. Together and as a whole community, we are striving to provide a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring that everyone involved in basketball is educated and informed about their responsibilities to protect and care for children.

Every child has the right to feel safe and be protected from all forms of abuse, harm, and neglect. They also have the right to participate in sports within a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment. This is why we have adopted Basketball Victoria’s zero tolerance policy and code of conduct towards child abuse and neglect.

BDABA is committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive, child-safe environment that is understood, endorsed, implemented, and adhered to by everyone involved in basketball.
